For some reason, I was thinking that it was going to be a more modern book, so it surprised me to find that it was set more in medieval times. Regardless, it was an enjoyable book. It tackles some difficult subjects, and while it is respectfully done, there was enough humor to defuse the situation without detracting from the seriousness. The characters are well-developed, the mysteries are in-depth, and the romance enhances, rather than detracts, from the plot itself. It will be interesting to see where this series continues to go. The book continues with Annabel trying her best to be positive and independent in many daunting and harrowing situations. Find out if she can find true love and solve the mysteries at the Castle! I enjoyed the twists and turns in this book as well as the mysteries. I really wanted Annabel to find true love and this book did not disappoint. The ending of this book was also very satisfying. 🍏 Apple Cream 🤝 A dessert of choice during apple orchard gatherings in the late 17th century, it was said that sharing this sweet treat strengthened bonds and friendships. 💰 Cinnamon and nutmeg were extremely valuable, and their presence in a recipe was a display of both wealth and the influence of global trade on English cuisine. 🥣 Ingredients: 🍎 4 sliced, cored apples 🍨1/4 cup sugar 💧 1/4 cup water 🥛 1 cup heavy cream 🪵 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 🤏 A pinch of ground nutmeg 🧑‍🍳 Instructions: 1️⃣ In a saucepan, combine sliced apples, sugar, and water.
